WHAT IS SHIPPEO?

Shippeo is a global leader of real-time and predictive visibility solutions for freight transport. Our platform offers shippers and third-party logistics providers (3PLs) a tool that allows them to consolidate real-time traceability information from their transport and logistics partners. This includes data such as vehicle positions, loading and delivery confirmations, and proof of delivery feedback. With this information, we calculate estimated arrival times (ETAs) and send notifications to all stakeholders involved in a transport order including warehouses, transport teams, and end customers. This ensures improved customer satisfaction and the seamless execution of transport operations.

WHY IS MY CLIENT ASKING ME TO USE SHIPPEO?

Your client is integrating Shippeo to get real-time visibility for the execution of the transportation orders you fulfil for them. There are numerous advantages to using Shippeo for both your clients and you as a carrier. We encourage you to reach out to your client directly to get a better understanding of their project vision.

WHAT SETS A STANDARD EDI APART?

Typically, standard EDI exchanges are confined to status validations. Shippeo not only integrates these standard functionalities, but also enables the real-time transmission of geolocation information, facilitating immediate and more precise information sharing among all connected operators.

I ALREADY OFFERED MY CLIENT A TRACKING SOLUTION. WHY IS THAT NOT ENOUGH?

Your client works with many carriers, each with its own tools and working methods. By acting as a multi-plug, Shippeo allows your customer to track all transport orders of all their carriers from a single platform.

WHAT IF I REFUSE TO USE SHIPPEO?

That's well within your rights! As your customer's service provider, we cannot force you to use Shippeo. However, you may jeopardize your business relationship with your customer, as providing real-time visibility is now a prerequisite and considered industry standard. We invite you to approach your customer and discuss this topic with them.

HOW EXACTLY DOES SHIPPEO WORK?

Once the integration with your telematics provider editor has been completed, we set up your Shippeo account, on which the transport orders created by your customer are sent to you. On Shippeo's platform, you can select the vehicle that will make the delivery for each transport order. For the duration of the transport order, the GPS positions of the vehicle assigned to the transport order are shared on Shippeo and used to enter the stages of the transport order automatically. Depending on the vehicle's position, an estimated arrival time is also calculated, and alerts are sent to the users concerned by the transport order according to the hazards.

HOW MUCH WORK IS INVOLVED?

All you have to do is log in to your Shippeo online space and in just 2 clicks, select the vehicle assigned to the delivery. It's that simple!

The rest of the information is automatically generated by the GPS positions of the vehicle you have assigned to the shipment.

IS THERE A SERVICE OR CONNECTION COST?

Shippeo never charges carriers for using the service or for connecting to your information system.

However, some embedded IT or TMS vendors may charge you for setting up an interface between your information system and Shippeo. We are not involved in this decision and invite you to contact your editor for further information.
