WHAT IS SHIPPEO?

Shippeo is the European leader in real-time and predictive visibility for freight transport. We provide shippers and 3PLs with a tool enabling them to centralize in real-time all traceability information from their transport and logistics partners (vehicle positions, loading and delivery confirmations, proof of delivery feedback). We use this information to calculate estimated arrival times (ETA) and send notifications to all parties involved in a transport order (warehouse, transport team, end customers, etc.) for greater customer satisfaction and smooth execution of transport operations.

WHY IS MY CLIENT ASKING ME TO USE SHIPPEO?

Your client is implementing Shippeo to achieve real-time visibility on executing the transport orders you carry out for them. There are multiple benefits to using Shippeo for your client and you as a carrier. We invite you to contact your client directly to learn more about their vision for the project.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE WITH A STANDARD EDI?

Standard EDI exchanges are mainly limited to status validations. In addition to integrating these standard functionalities, Shippeo allows the transmission of geolocation information in real-time, allowing immediate and more accurate information sharing between all connected operators.

I ALREADY OFFER A TRACKING SOLUTION TO MY CLIENT; WHY IS THAT NOT ENOUGH?

Your client works with many carriers, each with its tools and working methods. By acting as a multi-plug, Shippeo lets your customer track all transport orders of all their carriers from a single platform.

WHAT IF I REFUSE TO USE SHIPPEO?

That's your right! As your customer's service provider, we cannot force you to use Shippeo. However, you may jeopardize your business relationship with your customer, as providing real-time visibility is now a prerequisite. We invite you to approach your customer and discuss this topic with them.

HOW DOES SHIPPEO WORK EXACTLY?

Once the integration with your telematics provider editor has been completed, we set up your Shippeo account, on which the transport orders created by your customer are sent to you. On Shippeo, you select for each transport order the vehicle that will make the delivery. During the duration of the transport order, the GPS positions of the vehicle assigned to the transport order are shared on Shippeo and used to enter the stages of the transport order automatically. Depending on the vehicle's position, an estimated arrival time is also calculated, and alerts are sent to the users concerned by the transport order according to the hazards.

HOW MUCH WORK IS INVOLVED?

All you have to do is connect to your Shippeo space and select in 2 clicks the vehicle in charge of the delivery. That's all!

The rest of the information is automatically generated by the GPS positions of the vehicle you have assigned to the shipment.

IS THERE A COST OF USE? OF CONNECTION?

Shippeo never charges carriers for using the service or connecting to your information systems.

On the other hand, some embedded IT or TMS vendors may charge you for setting up an interface between your information system and Shippeo. We are not involved in this decision and invite you to contact your editor to ask him the question directly.
