We have worked closely with drivers, customers, and partners to build a new app that is easier to use, provides more value, and is more reliable. This article outlines the key changes and features that will help you get started quickly and easily.

Key Objectives of the New Shippeo Driver App:

  • Reduce Onboarding and Pairing Effort: Simplified ways to get started and pair drivers with tours.
  • Reduce Driver Effort During Tracking: Less manual input from drivers during the journey.
  • More Transparency and Value for Drivers: Clearer, more useful features for drivers.
  • Significantly Improve App Reliability: A smoother and more stable experience.

App Availability

The app is now available for both Android (Google Play) and iOS (App Store). This is a major improvement, especially for the US market. You can download the app by searching for it in your app store.

Login-Free & New Pairing Options

Drivers no longer need to log in with a username and password or SMS code. We’ve introduced three simple pairing options:

  • Search by Tour Reference: Drivers can search for their tour directly within the app.
  • Link to Tour: Drivers receive a link to their tour. Clicking on the link opens the app and starts tracking.
    • If the app isn't installed, a webpage will guide drivers to download it.
  • Login with Security Code: Drivers can pair by using a security code and the resource name (e.g., license plate or phone number). Once paired, drivers won’t need to input the code again for future tours.

Simple GPS Tracking Mode

For customers who only need GPS tracking, we've made it easier. Drivers no longer need to confirm loading and delivery. They can simply turn on tracking, and that's it! There's even an option to add photos during the journey if needed.

Enhanced Goods Tracking

We’ve streamlined the tracking process:

  • Fewer Clicks: It now takes far fewer steps to declare a loading or delivery.
  • Stop-Level Declarations: Declarations are made at the stop level, not the order level, saving time.
  • Pre-validated Handling Units: A new customer preference allow drivers to no longer be required to scan each unit individually.
  • Returnable Packaging: This feature is now more intuitive and easier to use.

New Feature Coming Soon: Electronic Consignment Note (eCMR)

A brand-new feature, the eCMR (Electronic Consignment Note), is coming soon. This will enable automatic generation and updates of consignment notes as drivers collect signatures at loading and delivery points. It will be released by the end of Q1 2025 (as an add-on).
