App Availability & Transition

  • When will the new mobile app be available?
    • The new Shippeo Mobile App will roll out in October 2024 for both iOS and Android.
  • What happens to the current app?
    • The current app (V2) will be removed from the Android Store by the end of 2024. You’ll need to switch to the new app for uninterrupted service.
  • Do I need to prepare for the switch?
    • Ensure your team is aware of the transition. Review the migration plan and contact us with any questions.
  • Will the new app consume more data or battery?
    • The new app is designed to be more efficient, but data and battery consumption will depend on usage.
  • Will the new app have additional features?
    • Yes, the new app includes better tracking accuracy, a smoother user interface, and improved integration with carrier systems.

Technical Requirements & Troubleshooting

  • What are the system requirements?
    • Android: Version 8.0 or higher.
    • iOS: Version 13 or higher.
  • What should I do if I encounter installation issues?
    • Ensure your device meets the system requirements. If issues persist, contact support.
  • Can the app be used offline?
    • The app requires an internet connection to upload the GPS positions and events. Without internet events and positions will be collected and data will sync when the connection is re-established.
  • What happens if a driver forgets their security code?
    • The dispatcher can re-send the code, or contact support if needed.

Pairing Methods & Usage

  • What are the available pairing methods?
    • Search by Shipment Reference, Tracking Link, or Security Code with an identifier (e.g., license plate, phone number, username).
  • How does the “Search for Shipment Reference” method work?
    • The driver enters a shipment (tour) reference provided by the customer or dispatcher.
  • How does the “Tracking Link” method work?
    • The driver receives a link via SMS, WhatsApp, or email to start tracking. An initial setup is required.
  • How does the “Security Code + Identifier” method work?
    • The driver enters a security code along with an identifier like a license plate or phone number.
  • Which pairing method should I use?
    • For spot drivers, use the Search or Tracking Link methods. For regular drivers, use the Security Code method.
